2010 NFL Predictions- Week 8

7-7 and 8-6 last week. Record is now 57-47 SU and 45-59 ATS. Hopefully it gets better from here on out.

Dolphins (+2.5) over BENGALS- Loser of this game probably falls way out of the playoff race. Dolphins are 3-0 on the road this season and play better away from home so its likely they will be right in this game if not win it outright. This is the style of team the Bengals match up better with, the question is how many mistakes from the QB can they tolerate and still win. A coin toss game so we'll go with the home team by a point. Bengals 17 Dolphins 16

COWBOYS (-6.5) over Jaguars- Very hard game to call as injuries and the mental state of the teams likely makes the stats useless. Dallas did at least try to come back against the Giants with Jon Kitna while the Jaguars look to have just given up. That tips this in favor of the Cowboys. Cowboys 31 Jaguars 20

LIONS (-2.5) over Redskins- Detroit is one of the more productive offenses in the NFL and has had an extra week to prepare for this game. The question is how will QB Matt Stafford look in his return and will the offense suffer or not. Washington won an ugly game last week and is a good defensive team, but this will be a tough task for them. Lions 31 Redskins 20

CHIEFS (-7.5) over Bills- Bills gave it their all last weekend in Baltimore and lost. Hard to imagine them going to Kansas City and having the same effort. Chiefs are murdering teams at home and the Bills have yet to hold a road opponent below 34. Chiefs 36 Bills 17

Packers (+6.5) over JETS- The one thing going in the Packers favor here is that they seem to play their games close and are almost always competitive when they travel. Jets should win the game, but the spread is just too much. Jets 20 Packers 14

49'ERS (-2.5) over Broncos- Hard to imagine the 49'ers favored over anybody, but when you play a team that gives up nearly 60 points to Oakland you can understand why the odds makers have them as favorites. San Francisco can keep teams offenses somewhat in check when the offense doesn't screw things up and maybe this week the offense plays ok. 49'ers 21 Broncos 17

RAMS (-3.5) over Panthers- There cant have been too many weeks in the last few years where both the Rams and Lions were favored. Rams should have won in Tampa last week and unless these is a hangover should beat a bad Carolina team that is probably still celebrating last weeks win. Rams 17 Panthers 10

Titans (+3.5) over CHARGERS- Nobody can make sense of San Diego. They are such a talented team, but are so poorly coached that they can't get out of their own way. They can win this game and maybe finally get it all together for the win this week, but we'll go with the norms and say they screw it up again. Titans 30 Chargers 20

Buccaneers (+3.5) over CARDINALS- Arizona is a much better home team than they are a road team, but will it be enough to beat a Tampa team that seems to just find a way to win games they have no business winning. Bucs look to make it 3-0 on the road. Buccaneers 17 Cardinals 16

PATRIOTS (-6.5) over Vikings- This is not going to end nicely for Brett Favre and you know this week he is going to try to force the ball to Randy Moss about 15 times. Patriots are going to survive off turnovers as everyone looks to see the Vikings post game to see if the coach takes his QB to task for more turnovers. Patriots 31 Vikings 23

RAIDERS (-2.5) over Seahawks- What has the world come to? The Raiders are favorites too? Insane. Seattle is not a good team on the road and is going to have a tough time against a team that can score a bit at home. Raiders 23 Seahawks 16

Steelers (+1.5) over SAINTS- I understand that everyone is waiting for the Saints to start playing well, but at this point is there any reason to believe it will happen? Steelers are a far superior team and will make up for a poor showing in Miami with a pretty thorough win this week. Steelers 24 Saints 13

COLTS (-5.5) over Texans- Big matchup between these two teams. Colts can not afford another division loss and expect to win the division and could even be in a position to miss the playoffs entirely if they fall to 3rd in the South. Texans showed some late life in the miracle win against the Chiefs two weeks ago, but this is going to be a payback game for Peyton Manning and the Texans will not be able to match that effort. Colts 28 Texans 19
