NFL Predictions- Week 9

Iím still awful this year picking these games, but eventually I have to luck into a good week, dont I?

Cardinals (-2.5) over RAMS- A big game for both teams as the Cardinals can put some distance between them an everyone else in the division while the Rams can shockingly get back into the thick of things in the West with a win. If Arizona is a real contender this is a game that they must win. Cardinals 33 Rams 24

BROWNS (-1.5) over Ravens- Tough physical game between two non offensive teams. Iíll just go with the home team in this one. Browns 18 Ravens 13

Lions (+12.5) over BEARS- The Lions just missed out on a cover last week against the Redskins, but hopefully their luck changes this week against Chicago. The Bears completely outclass the Lions, but seem to be overlooking teams when they play at home. Closer than people will think. Bears 31 Lions 23

VIKINGS (-4.5) over Texans- Which Texan team shows up this week? The team that throws a ton of points up on the board at home or the team that canít stop anyone on the road? The Vikings need this win to keep pace with their division more than Houston needs it this week. Vikings defense makes life tough for Matt Schaub. Vikings 20 Texans 14

Jaguars (-7.5) over BENGALS- Marvin Lewis is spending more time preparing his resume than attempting to prepare his team for the game this week. Jaguars get a much needed easy one this week. Jaguars 27 Bengals 3

BILLS (-5.5) over Jets- Until Brett Favre stops turning the football over, it will be impossible to expect the Jets to cover any football games. Buffalo makes a statement with a win this week as they get ready for the showdown with the Patriots. Bills 27 Jets 17

Buccaneers (-8.5) over CHIEFS- Herm Edwards blew the game for his team last weekend in New York and this week they come into an impossible spot. Bucs should have won in Dallas last week, but couldnt get it going offensively and will look to put a hurting on Kansas City. Buccaneers 24 Chiefs 9

Dolphins (+3.5) over BRONCOS- Whenever you expect Miami to lose they find a way to win and keep themselves in the race. After a fast start Denver has collapsed and can not overcome itís lack of talent in the front 7 of their defense. Dolphins win this one to stun the Denver home crowd. Dolphins 34 Broncos 24

Falcons (-2.5) over RAIDERS- Atlanta looks to have made everyone forget the Mike Vick era with a nice little run to begin the season. With John Abraham healthy life will be miserable for Jamarcus Russell, while Michael Turner has a chance to put up numbers that make his fantasy opponents cry. Falcons 24 Raiders 16

GIANTS (-7.5) over Cowboys- New York is playing tremendous football and has to be looking to place a hurting on the injured Cowboys. Dallas needs Tony Romo back before they fall out of it. Giants big.
Giants 27 Cowboys 10

Eagles (-6.5) over SEAHAWKS- Iíd like to think Seattle can stay close at home, but when Philadelphia wins they win big and I cant see the Eagles losing this one outright. Seahawks should put up a fight for 3 quarters, but in the 4th it will be all Eagles. Eagles 37 Seahawks 24

Patriots (+5.5) over COLTS- The game has certainly lost more than just a bit of itís usual luster, but one would expect the ďAĒ game from both teams. Very hard game to call as the Pats, when they lose, often just do not show up, but the Colts donít really pull away from teams anymore either. Colts are the more desperate team and eek out a close one, but not by enough to cover. Colts 23 Patriots 20

Steelers (+2.5) over REDSKINS- Something about the Redskins at home, especially as a favorite, just does not excite me. Washington has yet to really stun anyone at home this year and Pittsburgh is simply the better football team. Steelers 18 Redskins 14
