NFL Predictions- Week 8

At least we bounced back from a really bad week with a decent week 7 with a straight up record of 9-4 and a 10-3 record ATS. Using the Efficiency numbers to predict games currently has the season at 66-37 straight up and 52-51 ATS.

Broncos (+3.5) over RAVENS- I hate picking against the Ravens at home, but this is the first year that the Ravens are not showing the same home away splits, maybe because the defense no longer plays like an elite unit. The Broncos have to lose eventually, but they should win a close one this week and keep the streak going. Broncos 23 Ravens 19

BILLS (+3.5) over Texans- Houston should win a close game, but their defense is so bad it is hard to take them as a road favorite. Texans 21 Bills 20

BEARS (-13.5) over Browns- The Bears rolled over and played dead last week, but rolling over and playing dead should still be enough to beat Cleveland. The question is will it be enough to cover? Probably. Bears 27 Browns 6

Seahawks (+9.5) over COWBOYS- Seattle has actually played relatively well on the road despite a poor record. 9.5 points just seems too much for a schizophrenic team like Dallas. Cowboys 27 Seattle 21.

LIONS (-3.5) over Rams- Possibly the least intriguing matchup of the last 5 years. Detroit is clearly the superior team and will win a laugher. Lions 27 Rams 13

49íers (+11.5) over COLTS- San Francisco is definitely trending downward and is looking towards Alex Smith to salvage the offense. Indy has the ability to blow teams out, but San Fran has to put up a fight here to save the season. Colts 28 49ers 17

JETS (-3.5) over Dolphins- Miami is a very tough team to predict right now because their last 3 games were at home and the offense exploded at home. They have been an awful team away from home though, which should lead to a big Jets win if that continues to hold to form. Jets 16 Dolphins 7

Giants (+2.5) over EAGLES- Very hard game to call. Expect an offensive explosion by both teams with no defense from either squad. Eagles should be the slight favorite here, but very slight. Eagles 37 Giants 35

CHARGERS (-16.5) over Raiders- San Diego always scares me as a huge favorite, but this is the Raiders and the Raiders canít score points. Chargers 31 Raiders 9

Jaguars (+2.5) over TITANS- Maybe Vince Young changes the teams fortunes, but it is hard to picture the Titans being a favorite even at home right now. You never know if Jacksonville will give an effort and maybe the odds makers know something we donít, but the does not look to be a chance for a Titan victory this week. Jaguars 29 Titans 20

Panthers (+9.5) over CARDINALS- For as bad as Carolina is they do seem to find ways to stay within striking distance before blowing it at the end. 9.5 seems just a touch too high here. Cardinals 21 Panthers 14

PACKERS (-2.5) over Vikings- Track meet game where Favre is likely going to make one mistake too many to cause the loss. Packers 28 Vikings 21

SAINTS (-9.5) over Falcons_ Falcons just have all kinds of problems on the road right now, especially in the second half. New Orleans is just playing at too high of a level for them. Saints 37 Falcons 21
