Chad Ochocinco was traded to the New England Patriots from the Cincinnati Bengals on July 29, 2011. Ochocinco signed a two year extension with the Patriots on
August 8, 2011. Ochocinco received a signing bonus of $4,750,000. Base salaries of the contract are $1,000,000(2011), $3,000,000(2012), and $3,000,000(2013). Ochocinco can also earn incentives based on receptions or being voted into the Pro Bowl.
On March 24, 2012 Ochocinco renegotiated his contract to reduce his 2012 base salary to remain on the team. The new base salary for 2012 is $925,000.
