QB Tom Brady signed a 4 year, $72 million dollar extension with the New England Patriots on September 11, 2010. Brady received a
$16 million signing bonus and $42 million in guarantees. Brady will receive roster bonuses of $4 million in 2011, $6 million in 2012, and $5 million in 2013 and 2014.
Brady's contract contains rolling guarantees of $20 million combined in the 2013 and 2014 seasons. The guarantees kick in if Brady is on the Patriots roster at the beginning of
each year. Base salaries are $7,500,000 (2010), $5,750,000 (2011), $5,750,000 (2012), $9,750,000 (2013), and $9,750,000 (2014).
On March 16, 2012 Brady converted his $6 million roster bonus and $4.8 million of his 2012 salary into a signing bonus.
