Playing Time: Jets vs Cardinals Tweet
No real surprises on offense. Shonn Greene and Bilal Powell continue to split snaps while the guard rotation remains. With Keller going down to injury Im assuming that led to more snaps than usual for Konrad Reuland.
Defensively I have a difficult time grasping what Rex Ryan is doing. Maybe he is seeing things on tape that nobody else does but he has three young players- Quinton Coples, Demario Davis, and Kenrick Ellis- who absolutely need to get playing time as the team prepares for the future. Coples played just 35% of the snaps while Ellis and Davis saw a total of 5 snaps combined. I understand that Rex is desperate to win and that he is very loyal to players like Calvin Pace (his first 100% snap count of the year) and Bart Scott (74%, highest since week 4) but the Jets have to think of the future of this team. To me this is counterproductive to the franchise. They need these young guys to hit the ground running next year and not continue to be in complete developmental stages.
Here are the percent of downs played
by our offense and defense in week 13, plus the cumulative percent of snaps on the year, and 4 week averages:
